Frequently Asked Questions

A: The Adult Wednesday League is an 'unofficial' roller hockey league that plays Issaquah, Washington. The Adult Wednesday league is new in 2024 and also allows for parents of kids in the 14+ league to play together.

A: The skill level varies from Div 4 to Div 9, with an average around Div 6, based on the Seattle Kraken Hockey League divisions. Since teams rosters change based on who can attend, we balance skill level and can change mid-game to rebalance teams.

A: You're in good company, almost all of the players haven't played roller hockey in years and some have never played roller hockey before starting in the BHL.

A: For BHL games, we use a plastic roller hockey puck so, in addition to roller blades, and full protective hockey gear including stick, helmet with cage or visor, shin pads, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, and a cup. Goalies typically wear steel-toed shoes versus skates and we do have wraps for skate pads.

A: Right now, BHL is invite only through friends or friends-of-friends.

Adult Backyard Hockey Now on Wed and Thur

The 2024 Summer season has started, we had a great Game 1 and cool weather for the first game of the season!

Announcement: Due to high demand, we've added a second night for adult players with games now on Wed and Thur nights at 8:30PM, every week through September 12th!

To better accomodate families commuting for the Girls league after work and to play at cooler temperatures for the summer heat, we are adjusting all game start times as follows starting July 6, 2023:

New Start Times
  • Girls League: 6:30PM - 7:25PM
  • Kids League: 7:30PM - 8:50PM
  • Adult League: 9PM - 10:15PM

Adult Summer 2023 has started!

Adult Games 1 and 2 are in the books for Summer 2023, with Game 1 ending 41-35 Dark, while Game 2 was a nailbiter one-goal game to the very end 30-29 Dark.

Summer 2022 Season Awards

Summer 2022 Season awards had Mike Pace win the League MVP, Rocket Richard (most goals), and Art Ross (most points) in a season! Kudos to Kyle Finn and Shon Smith who tied for the Norris Trophy (best Defenseman), and Olivier Tritschler for winning the Vezina (best goalie).
